  Sunday, June 2, 2024  Posted this to a Rolling Stone article on FB about a member of the US State Dept who had inspired a Neil Young song: Spent years trying to find out what happened to me and about 3 weeks ago I found out. Former ambassador Kurt Tong's favorite song was Rockin' in the Freeworld . The Atlas missile system was the first US ICBM. The Atlas rocket was the first to go to Mars, Jupiter, Mercury and Venus , with the Mariner space program and Pioneer 10 space program. Kurt called once after Dave did when I was living with Dorothy in Florida. It kind of creeped me out a little, because Kurt had never called me before, and I was afraid something might be wrong with Dad. But he was OK. I believe I wrote the words to this other song below about a week after I talked to Dad because they asked me to call him. It was Judy's favorite song. Audio report Roger : - NY Times  April 30th, 2006 ' Give Them Liberty, and a Family Atmosphere' ​So I found out something neat about Brodie Ski Area in New Ashford that I believe is okay to tell now. Though in conjunction with something else I once told, it might be unsafe to tell. Since hell is coming anyway, I will just tell it. ​In the 1970s, I used to wake up at 2:00-3:00 AM hearing this big-ass truck going south while taking up both lanes in a convoy on Water Street / Green River Rd. It was going about 2 MPH.  Because Dad was a police dispatcher, he told me it was the nuclear waste truck from Rowe Yankee. But all these years I wondered why it would go down Green River Rd. As far as we knew, studying environmental science in the 1980s and 1990s, there was no place to store spent nuclear fuel safely.
